The first Lent I observed was a month after my grandmama, my closest family member, died. And since my family is aging and I know lots of older people through churches, every year there's at least one winter time death.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08112924098753896966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2866948649637652233.post-23213202034220889102015-03-10T21:31:25.852-04:002015-03-10T21:31:25.852-04:00I don't know why I'm just now getting to t...I don't know why I'm just now getting to this, BUT, your #4 is so powerful. I'm feeling this Lent more acutely than I have in some time, maybe because I've realized how much I need it. And yes, my sacrifices have been chosen for me.

I'm sorry for your losses.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17507486288887752584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2866948649637652233.post-89036440083484455622015-02-20T22:47:44.864-05:002015-02-20T22:47:44.864-05:00And to you Kelly! Maybe God's trying to tell me something ;)Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08112924098753896966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2866948649637652233.post-43367093660759652052015-02-20T13:35:48.009-05:002015-02-20T13:35:48.009-05:00I so agree on your points. Reminds me of Mark 2:27, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath."Ari Mackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12353619692848596247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2866948649637652233.post-47898276026392766072015-02-20T12:14:01.184-05:002015-02-20T12:14:01.184-05:00Excellent post.

And I am truly sorry for your loss and all that goes with it.
I personally love the season of Lent. Same as I love the sacrament of confession. The Church gives us a framework in which to "work out our salvation." Which is not the same as earning it, but that's another day, another post.
Blessings to you !Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10847572866285311259noreply@blogger.com
